The Grand National Runners 2012 Top 10 Horses

This year the Grand National Runners 2012 will take place in Aintree in the month of April. This event draws in over 16 million attendees and is considered one of the most respected events of it’s kind. Out of all of the horses running, Prince De Beauchene ranks at the top with 10-1 odds. This nine year old horse won the John Smiths Handicap Chase at Aintree in 2011. This horse has always been viewed as being a top contender. Prince De Beauchene also won the Grade Two Bobbyjo Chase in February at Fairyhouse. Trained by Willie Mullins, this horse weighs in at 10-6.

Next in line is a horse named Junior. Junior is also 9 years old and won at the Royal Ascot in 2010 and at the Cheltenham Festival in 2011. Previously trained by Brian Meehan and Alan King, this runner weighs 11-2 and is now trained by David Pipe. The odds on Junior come in at 14-1.

Ballabriggs has the third best odds in the Grand National Runners 2012 with 16-1. Donald McCain is the current trainer of this 11 year old horse that weighs in at 11-9. Ballabriggs won the Kim Muir in 2010 and is the winner of the 2011 Grand National.

Weighing in at 11-7, Burton Port also has 16-1 betting odds. This 8 year old runner did not race much of last season because of an injury. Burton Port started off last year by placing as runner up to Diamond Harry in the Hennessy. When this horse races at the Grand National Runners 2012 in April, it will have been 57 days since his last race.

Seabass is one of three horses in the event that has 16-1 odds. Trained by Ted Walsh, this runner has a weight of 10-12. Seabass won his sixth race in a row upon becoming champion of the recent 40k Leopardstown Handicap Chase. This horse is 9 years old.

West End Rocker also has a weight of 10-12. This Runner is trained by Alan King and has 18-1 betting odds. West End Rocker is 10 years old and the recent winner of the Becher Chase in Aintree by an impressive twenty-two lengths.

Following West End Rocker is Cappa Bleu with 20-1 odds. This 10 year old horse weighs in at 10-10 and has several victories to his credit. Although seriously injured in 2009, Cappa Bleu won the Cheltenham Foxhunters just before the injury.
